Amy Lee 1981-ben szletett, 9 ves korban kezdett zongorzni. Nagy hatssal volt r Mozart munkssga. Eredetileg klasszikus zeneszerz szeretett volna lenni, a rockzent mindig is szerette, gy a kt zenei stlus tvzete a mai napig jellemzi dalait. 2007-ben hzasodott ssze Josh Hartzlerrel, 2014-ben szletett meg kisfiuk, Jack Lion. Szlkarrierje 2014-ben indult: filmzenket, feldolgozsokat kszt, de megjelent egy gyermekdalokat tartalmaz albuma is.

Az Evanescence nekesnjt, Amy Lee-t mg mindig haragszik magra, amirt hrom vig megalz kapcsolatban volt Ben Moody-val. Sajt dalszvegei dbbentettk r, hogy ideje tovbblpni. A pros, aki a goth egyttest alaptotta, rviddel azeltt szaktott, mielttt Ben 2003-ban fakpnl hagyta a bandt - Lee soha nem volt boldogabb. Most mr tudja, hogy boldogabb is lehetett volna, ha szre veszi, milyen dalokat rt Moody-val. Az amerikai Spin magazinnak ezt nyilatkozta:
"Miutn felvettk a dalokat, s visszahallgattam a sajt szavaimat a Going Under-ben, s a krusban azt szerettem volna hallani: 'Elmegyek, nem foglalkozom ezzel tbbet', ehelyett azt nekeltem: 'Sllyedek, elmerlk benned'. Ekkor azt gondoltam, tudom, mit kellene tennem, de nem teszem meg."
